Well, the ski trip went alright I guess. We stayed up in New Hampshire with some family friends. Actually, I didn't know what state I was in for like half the trip, hahaha- I thought I was in Massachusetts or something, since we flew to the airport in Boston. Well, I played a decent bit of Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 with the kid, who goes by "Mr. Mike"- cool stuff. It was like a 2 hour drive to each place to ski though, blehhh. The first day, we went to Killington; second day- Loon Mountain; third day- Waterville Valley. It was icy everywhere (that's bad), it just wasn't a very good year for snow anywhere in the country.

I'd actually already been to Killington before with my cousin & his college buddies like last year (I think. After awhile, every place starts looking the same, and you can't remember which year you went to which place.). Ummm, Loon Mountain had this really cool rental system; it was like all computerized and everything had barcodes- that's the only place I've ever seen that stuff. Actually, if I'd bought my equipment like years ago, I'd have saved a ton of money. I've skiied (& rented) enough times to pay it off probably like 4 or 5 times over by now. (I use the term "ski" pretty loosely. I actually haven't skiied in awhile, I always snowboard nowadays. But "ski" is just so much easier to say and type, so that's the word I use.) And the problem with renting your equipment all the time is that sometimes you get stuff that fits well, and sometimes you don't. The first day, I got these really terrible boots, and they gave me blisters on my feet.

On the first day, it was particularly icy, and coming down a black, I skidded out and like belly-flopped down about half the mountatin, hahaha, it was great(ly embarassing), hahahah! Oh, and I hate how when you ski, you get snotsicles- when snot drips and then freezes half in, half out of your nose (a pretty common occurrence, I'd say). And also on the first day, I hurt my finger like really really badly. it wasn't even a real accident, either. I was kneeling with my toe-side to the mountain, and was trying to flip to heel-side, and I guess I wasn't careful, but I bent my left middle finger extremely far back. It finally stopped hurting like yesterday, but now it makes a popping sound every time I squeeze my hand into a fist. ACK!

On the second day, on a lift, I started thinking about the whole idea behind skiing, and it all seemed kinda silly. I mean, seriously: a machine takes you up a mountain, then you come down the mountain, you repeat as necessary. It's terribly simple, yet people are willing to pay so much to do it. What's the point of it all? =/

Other than skiing, we visited the campuses of Wellesley, MIT, and Harvard. I don't really know why my parents wanted me to see Wellesley; it's like uhhh, you understand that I CAN'T go here, right? But oh well, we didn't stay long. We didn't stay long at MIT either. =( Such a pity- that was the only school I really wanted to see. We went on a Saturday, and they only have tours on weekdays, arg. We spent forever looking at Harvard- ehhh, it's pretty much exactly what I expected when I think of Harvard.

We also visited Lexington, and I got to thinking: were the Minute Men related to Minute Maid? =P Umm, yea, visited Walden Pond too, not really all that cool. Ehhh, well, I guess that springs from the fact that I didn't find (what I read of) the book Walden all that impressive either. The whole concept behind Thoreau's little excursion just didn't appeal to me. Quite frankly, I think living an ascetic life like that is just silly; if you wanted to deprive yourself of the benefits of modern society, you might as well be Amish or something, geez. (No offense to Amish people or anything. =P)

Oh, today, after we'd done everything and visited just about everywhere, my brother accidentally formatted the memory card on our digital camera. D'OH! And my dad had been such a pain in the butt the whole trip about taking pictures. Well, my mom had told me this anecdote earlier that day along the lines of: There was this guy who went to an estate sale, and was looking through this dead guy's photo album, and he realized that: a picture is really only valuable to it's owner. The picture reminds a person (or a few people) of an incident in their lives, and when their lives are over, that memory disappears, and the picture loses its meaning. Of all the pictures in the photo album, maybe the owner's kids would take a few, but the rest would be left there- a lifetime of memories that mean nothing. Like, my dad has one picture of his grandfather in his photo album, and to him, that means something. But even if he were to give it to me, I wouldn't know who the man in the picture was. The picture loses that much meaning with each passing generation. And well anyways, that's why my mom said she doesn't make a big deal out of pictures any more- because in the end, they won't really matter. But she said if it makes my dad so happy to take pictures, it really doesn't hurt too much to pose for him sometimes. Makes sense, I guess. =/
ARRRRGGGG... I think I'm allergic to something I ate on the flight home; I'm like breaking out in hives or something. Itches like crazy! ugghhhh... I'm dying here. I'm gonna look like I got mauled by a tiger tomorrow with all these self-inflicted scratch wounds. Yea, yea, I know: "scratching'll only make it worse." But I can't help myself; that's like telling a starving guy not to eat poisonous mushrooms... you know it's bad for you but you just can't resist.

gone skiing. be back on the 30th or 31st

Another Christmas Eve, sitting here by myself... lonely as always, bored as ever. =/
I was at my friend's house, and I discovered that Starbuck's Coffee makes chocolate-covered expresso beans! YES! I've been looking for those for years. The fabled "buzz bean" has returned, mwahahahaha!
ARRRRRRGGG!!! My playstation is busted!!! =( There's like something messed up with the power supply. Ok, so first, I get all pissed cuz it took me about 30 minutes to find my Final Fantasy 9 disc 3. Then, to add injury to insult (or is it the other way around?), the whole system won't turn on cuz the plug or something it touches doesn't wanna work! grrrrr... So I took it apart, and started fiddling with the stuff inside; I found this spot where the soldering had come like been burnt off or something. I bent a little flap of metal into place and tried turning it on... yea, baaaaaad idea- I got shocked, and couldn't feel my fingers for a sec, hahaha.

But anyways, this sucks, cuz now I don't get to find out what happens in the rest of the story. geez... as if I hadn't been waiting long enough already! Auggghhh... Well, I guess that's just another item I'll hafta scratch off my list of things to do over winter break. =/ And I don't know whether or not I should have the PS fixed or get a new system- and it's not just that this one has sentimental value, it's special cuz it's one of those early edition ones that doesn't require a mod chip.

Do you ever have so many options as to what to do that you don't even know where to start? And you have such a hard time deciding that you end up doing nothing? hahaha... umm, yea... =P
I had a dream where someone was holding my hand, and it was a really reassuring feeling- I felt safe and loved. But when I woke up, I couldn't remember whose hand it was... *sigh* who could make me feel that way? =/ Perhaps the hand was a symbol, and not a real, physical person at all...

Friday, December 21, 2001

Kung fu was soooo tiring tonight. After class finished, we started tossing around the punching bag like a medicine ball. Insanely strenuous... and we musta been doing it for like 20 minutes. Yea, man... ooooh, I'm gonna feel it in the morning, hahaha!

Hey, how come car CD players don't have ESP? Seriously! If ever there was a place for ESP, wouldn't it be on a car??? That came to mind cuz Mike's car CD player is notorious for skipping, heheh.
Finally in the mood to blog again. Schools off now, yup, sucked it up on exams pretty hard. =/ Physics especially... oooohhh man! 79!?!?!? Friggin' A!!! That pulled my average down to an 89- right below the dividing line for GPA! =(

Yea, well, anyways, I went and saw Fellowship of the Ring (Lord of the Rings) after that. It wasn't bad, but I thought it would be better. I dunno, I mean, it was fun, but it was really loooooong. And I didn't like the guy they had playing Strider (Aragorn). When I read the book, he was the absolute coolest character! I imagined him as like this ninja type dude (a la Strider Hiryu, probably); and actually, I always envisioned him as an elf, I dunno if Tolkien wrote it that way or if I made that up in my mind to make him cooler. Oh, and the movie, since it's part of a trilogy, kinda just leaves you hanging. Man, I hate movies that do that; like the only movie trilogy part I that didn't leave you asking questions was Star Wars... but then again, they didn't know if they'd get a chance to make the other 2.
After the movie was over, and we were walking away, I made a sudden turn and almost stepped on a baby in a stroller! Hahah, yea, not good... the mother gave me this really mean look, haha. Ummm, yea, after that we went to Chili's. Man, I hate when they won't let you split a check, and then you gotta just like pile up the money- Some JERKS never seem to pay. Yea, I ended up paying more than double the amount I was supposed to so we could finally leave, grrrrrr...

This morning, I had to do some community service for NHS. Of course, as usual, they didn't give us a very thorough "mission briefing," so most of the time, we didn't have any idea what we were supposed to do. Oh well, I got my hours & signature, so it's all good.

After that, I went and saw Monsters, Inc.. I really liked it; definitely among the best of the Disney movies- very cute, very sweet. Not as cool as Mulan, of course though! I must be biased towards that one cuz it's about an Asian girl in war. Seriously though, if I ever find a girl who's smart, nice, pretty, AND can whup me in a fist fight, I'd be head-over-heels, hahahah.

After watching the movie, I went to Main Event. It's like a bowling alley, pool hall, and an arcade (albeit, a not very cool one) all spliced into one. There was like this gun game thingy, and I was playing with my friends, and all through the game I was like, uhhh... how come my gun isn't working? After the game, I realized I'd picked up the gun from the station from the station next to mine, hahaha, it was so stupid. (I guess you had to be there.) Then Rex & I played DDR; that was the first time I'd played since my cousin borrowed my pad and never returned it. Well, now I remember why I never made any attempt to get my pad back... I suck like crazy!!! HAHAHA! I always lose my orientation and start stepping on what would be diagonals. =P And I played ParaParaParadise too, it's really fun(ny), hahaha. It's like DDR, except with your hands; I tried it on super-duper hard, and towards the end, I was just busting out with like frantic spear hand, hahaha, it was great!

*Oh, and I accidentally snuck off with the A&M keys again on Wednesday (12/19), hahah, d'oh!

**And, in my absolute outrage over MIT, I completely forgot to mention my brother coming home from UT (12/16) and his birthday (12/17).

Monday, December 17, 2001

"a single tear rolled down my cheek..."
(MIT) deferred................................. CRAPPIT!!!

ok, yea, it's official now: I'M A LOSER! =(
*sigh* I think I'll go cry my eyes out now or something...

*Actually, I don't feel half as sad as I know I ought to be. I think I'm still in shock, and my brain hasn't yet accepted the cold hard truth. When it hits me, everyone'll wonder why I just burst into tears for no apparent reason... til then, I'm living... still... unfortunately. Man, more than just not getting accepted, it hurts cuz it's an implication that I'm not nearly as good, cool, smart, whatever as I thought I was- that's a pretty harsh realization. =(

**I've got the urge to pound something... preferably bipedal

Saturday, December 15, 2001

I just got back from watching Cirque du Soleil's Dralion. It was really good; I'd actually watched most of it on cable before, but it was like 3 times cooler watching it in person. If you've never watched a Cirque du Soleil show before, I highly recommend it. It's like a combination between an opera and ballet (with acrobatics, of course)... and throw in a couple clowns. And the music was really good too; they had people singing in (what I think was) Italian.

I watched O (another Cirque du Soleil show) in Las Vegas also, I think that one was a little bit better. It was more expressionist and had more of a story to it, whereas Dralion was kinda hard to interpret and wasn't tied together much. Yea, but I always leave these shows like in deep thought- pondering the themes and meanings and stuff. It's so poetic and beautifully expressionate- it's like watching a painting come to life. Very cool...

Oh, and they're inspirational too! It makes me wanna start up my splits training again. It's like, wow, how does a person manage to have so much physical strength and flexibility? Man, I wish I'd taken gymnastics as a child! =(

*I just re-read this entry, and I realized that I changed back and forth between singular and plural a whole bunch. Arg, I don't feel like changing it... maybe later
Man, I had a dream that Mike and I got lost on the way back home from kung fu (we carpool). And, we like slipped into another dimension or something; it was like in Silent Hill. Except, instead of evil zombie monsters, there were evil claymation hillbillies and hunchbacks, hahaha. Now that I think about it, it was kinda silly, but at the time, it was freaky as hell.

*Oh, and the night before, I had a dream where I was talking in Spanish, hahaha! But I don't think I was conjugating my verbs correctly... =P
While filling out stuff for college apps, I sometimes ask friends their opinion about what I should put on something or how I should put it. But actually, I don't know why I bother asking people's opinions... in the end, I always end up doing whatever the heck I please anyway, hahaha...

"Thank you for your interest in Stanford University. This message has been sent to remind you that our Regular Review deadline is December 15th, 12:00am-Pacific Time."

Hey wait a minute, 12:00am December 15th is the same thing as midnight tonight, huh? AW CRIKEY! How do I always manage to let this happen to me??? D'oh! geez... "December 15th"... man, that's such a freakin' lie! What gives? I'll ponder that later, I've gotta write like mad now!

*Time and Date Submitted: 12/14/2001 11:54:00 PM (PST)
Man, I sucked it up on the statistics test I got back today. Graaagghhh... so many careless mistakes. Do you ever get like a really bad grade and then want very badly to say to the teacher something like, "Man, give me another chance! Please! I'm not this stupid, I promise!" Heh, yea, geez... stats is usually such a blow-off GPA booster of a class, too. =/

*We boxed (kinda) at kung fu for the first time in ages. Well, I got punched in the face and got about a sq. cm of skin torn off my cheek, ouch! Then, I somehow got my helmet knocked off and punched in the temple, double-ouch! Man, yea, it's like my temple is bruised or something... there go some brain cells, hahaha! =/

Thursday, December 13, 2001

I didn't have time to eat a real lunch today cuz I was too busy doing my physics hw. So I bought one of those peanut butter & jelly sandwiches (from the school) and ate it in physics class. Man, they're so unbelievably dry; it makes your mouth feel like it's glued shut. Seriously, the peanut butter to jelly ratio is all off! =P Mike and Danny said it was impossible to eat one of those things without like a milk or something to wash it down, but I managed to pull it off, heheh. I think maybe I have hyperactive saliva glands- that would explain why I drool so much in my sleep, HAHAHA!

Wednesday, December 12, 2001

I just dyed my hair again, but you can hardly tell... what a waste! =(
The Spanish Honor Society at school was holding a toy drive, so I decided to donate the "Jewel Girl Barbie" that I won from Cartoon Network like last year. Man, I got soooo many questions today as to why I was carrying around a Barbie, hahaha.

Umm... yea, today I stopped by the new McDonald's near A&M, and I saw that their playground thing has a built-in videogame console!!! Man, that's awesome! Haha, I wish they had those when I was a kid. Seriously though- I wish I lived in the future, with all the nifty gizmos and stuff that you see in the movies. Well, of course, if I had that stuff, I'd probably wanna live further in the future, when they've got stuff we haven't even thought of! *sigh* the grass is always greener on the other side. =/

But yea, tons of studying to do now, bleehhhh! =(

*Oh yea, I accidentally typed in my AIM screenname and password today in compsci instead of my school ones, haha. Silly me... took me forever to figure out why it wasn't letting me on to the network, haha.

Tuesday, December 11, 2001

Me: yea, I've been thinking about looking into more of the combat aspects of martial arts instead of performance
Nien: yea, that sounds like fun, i thought about it, but i'm always hesitant... with my eyes and whatnot
Me: yea, i'm a little hesitant too... with the BRAINCELLS and whatnot, haha
Man, senioritis has hit me bad! I always used to joke about how I've had senioritis since sophomore year, cuz quite honestly, I don't do a whole lot of my hw at home. But I guess I never felt the full brunt of senioritis until recently. It's kinda like a tumor that suddenly became malignant or something. Uggghhh... I've gotten so lazy I can't even believe it myself- it's like my mind is unable to comprehend how important anything is. I think I just gave up on life in general when my parents said I had to go to UT. =/

Monday, December 10, 2001

Man, today has not been a good day with keys. When I was emptying out my pockets, I realized that I'd accidentally brought home the (A&M) keys to the botany building. They're like the super-secret keys that we always keep stashed, haha. =P And now they're at my house, hahaha.

Then, later, I dropped my (car) keys in that little space between the driver's seat and the armrest-type thingy in middle (I don't know what it's called... obviously, hahaha). It took me forever to get it out, and I got some cuts on my hand. Oh, and I accidentally set off the car alarm too, and I had a heck of a time trying to get it to be quiet. Hahah... umm, yea, that was my fun day with keys. =P

*Oh yea, and in the botany building (@ A&M) today, I saw this 2.5 legged mouse. It was like limping around... probably a mousetrap victim.
I trapped it under a pot so I could show Kevin later, but then I felt sorry for it, so I let it go. It hobbled away slowly...
There wasn't a whole lot to do down at the A&M research center today, so I went and got a haircut instead. They got it right for a change! =) *whew* Ummm, yea, then there was an NHS meeting, nothing special.

Sunday, December 09, 2001

I just got home from performing kung fu (; I went straight from Chinese school). I'm not even completely sure what the performance was for- it was like a cross between a Christmas party and a Malaysian culture festival. Oh well, it was amusing I guess... they had like this kids' fashion show, and some of the kids I teach were in it. Heh, they were cute. =) But yea, I brought my hw thinking maybe I'd actually do some of it... HA! I shoulda known better, heheh. Oh well, I guess I'll be doing it at lunch tomorrow, hahaha.
Man, I've got writer's block... I can go on and on about stuff that has no relevance, but once I hafta write something about a set topic, I'm stumped. Last night, I did my usual ritual of waiting 'til about midnight for the muse to come to me, but it didn't. =/ Seriously, do you ever feel like you get more creative when you're sleepy as heck? I remember learning about this Chinese poet who had to get drunk as hell and then sniff his wife's smelly socks before he could write, hahaha. That's hilarious, but hey, whatever works, right? Hahaha!

But yea, anyways, I don't know why I even bother with this Stanford app. I don't wanna go there that bad anyways. It's like, I seriously don't think I'm gonna get in. And I'm not just saying that to be humble like everyone else, I mean it- if they accept me, that'd be like a serious oversight on their part, hahaha. I'm one of those people that applies without a chance of getting in and then skews the statistics and makes all the applying seniors freak out cuz of the low acceptance rate, hahaha. Seriously though, it's not like my parents would let me go anyway, I just thought I might as well finish up the app since I already paid the $60ish and had teachers write rec's already.

Saturday, December 08, 2001

Post-It notes should have expiration dates! Seriously, I've started writing myself notes on stickies and putting 'em on my computer monitor. (I got the idea from a movie I think. =P) I hafta stick 'em on my computer cuz that's like the only place I'm sure to go, like every day, hahaha.
But anyways, yea, this one stack of Post-Its that I found (that has presumably been lying around for quite awhile) can't seem to stick to anything. Did they expire or did they just always suck? hahaha. =P
!@$#!@#$! The hotline for rush delivery is down! ...and regular delivery takes 3 weeks+, auuuggghhhh!

*Oh wait, you can do that online too, haha, silly me! Thanks, Sleepy... this could save me a parental beating, heheh.
!@#$%@#$%!!!!! I just found out that I need to send in the SAT score report request form for National Merit... like, ASA freaking P... as in like preferably MONTHS ago, as in like DEADLINE may or may not have passed already... grrrr... $3000 of easy money for 4-years (@ UT) hangs in the balance!!!!

Arg, my mom just told me you can't FedEx to a P.O. Box! Ok... Don't Panic, don't panic, don't panic... AW CRIKEY I'M PANICKING!!!!

*Ok, I just looked it up on the collegeboard website: I can call and have 'em send it "rush delivery". And the hotline's up 24-7.
uggghhhh... gotta choose between doing my Stanford app. and going to a movie. blehhhhh! Choices, choices! =(
...and the movie's only showing tonight. grrrr...
Man, I hate sleeping! I mean, if you get enough of it, I like the way it makes you feel, but other than that, what is it good for? It's such a huge waste of time! There are so many things you could be doing instead. Seriously though, they need to invent a "sleep substitute" pill! That would be sweeeeet! =P
I was eating this piece of like hard peanut(ish) candy, and I was having a lot of trouble chewing it... errr... breaking pieces off. So I was clamping it with my teeth and prying; I alternated being prying upward and downward. On one of the ups, it broke and I nearly punched myself in the face, hahaha! The candy scraped across my face though. =/
I fell asleep at 10:00 last night- that's UNPRECEDENTED!!! hahaha! =P

*Oh yea, I heard at school on Friday that they're not gonna have a Mr. West calendar this year. MAN! What the crap is this? That's like half the reason I agreed to be in the pageant, grrrr....

Thursday, December 06, 2001

I'm doing the extra credit assignment for physics- to make up our own problem. Man, who woulda thought it was so freakin' hard? Oh, the complications arise not in thinking up the problem, it's having to provide a solution also.

The scenario I had in mind was an astronaut firing a gun in space. The tricky part arises in the fact that each time he fires, his relative speed changes. That was gonna be the little catch that made the problem hard... but the change is so small that you'd hafta carry all your answers out to like the 5th or 6th decimal place to see any differences. *sigh* I dunno, maybe I'll just say the bullets are all 1kg, haha.

*I woke up and did part of it in the morning (; I ended up being more than 15 minutes late to zero hour, hahaha). Then I came home and finished it at lunch, got to 5th period just under 10 minutes late. Man, I seriously hope I get some credit for this.
Most of the time, I've got like a ritual of always putting in & taking out my left contact lens before my right. This way, there's no confusion about which is which if I space out and come back to reality while taking 'em out. Well, tonight, I dunno what was wrong, but I'd already taken one out, and I had one on my finger (just taken out), but I coulda sworn I'd just taken it from the left eye. hmmm... out of like 5 years of doing this, it was the first time I recall ever taking out the right first. Weeieieieieieiird! So i tried putting it into both eyes to see which eye it was clearer in; apparently, the prescriptions of my 2 eyes aren't as far off as I thought. =/ I eventually decided it was the left... well, if I can't see clearly the next few days, I'll know to switch 'em around, haha.
Man, blogspot's not loading very well tonight. Oh no! I think it's got LiveJournal syndrome!!! hahahah! =P
We've been watching the video of Hamlet in (honors) English, and like, whenever the VCR's running, it overlays the counter, tape speed, and the triangular play symbol over the picture. Well, anyways, I get distracted and start imagining the triangle as a clown hat (or sometimes a horn) and waiting for the people to tilt their heads just the right way for the "hat" to line up perfectly on their head, hahaha! I can't help but giggle to myself when it happens, even in somber scenes. I used to think I was the only one who ever did this, but after class today, I told Tim about it, and he knew what I was talking about even before I explained it! Haha, same thing with Danny too, hahahaha, that's hilarious; I wonder if everyone does that.

Tuesday, December 04, 2001

Tried out Morpheus... it's true, it and Kazaa are like identical. I was trying to decide which one to d/load, and I read that Kazaa has more ads and has spyware; Morpheus is like more vulnerable to viruses or something. I dunno, I can't tell.
I've spent like all night scouring the internet for the little icon I used to use for AIM. It got erased when I formatted my comp. Man, who woulda thought it'd be so hard to find again? And I can't remember where I got it last time. Yea, anyways, in case you didn't know, it's a picture of Squall (from FFVIII) holding a flaming gunblade in front of his face. I have a wall scroll of the same picture in my bed room.
Man, I'm starting to get the tests back that I took last week, when I was too busy to study at all. ooooohhh MAN! they're bad! Arg, my A's in physics and calculus are in jeopardy. =(

*Don't you hate when you get like a streak of bad grades, and it makes you question your own intellectual abilities? grrr...

Monday, December 03, 2001

I was reading up about 'ginger' or the Segway, the invention that was supposed to change the world. Man, what a disappointment- not nearly as cool as I'd imagined. =/ I mean, seriously, you mean to tell me that a scooter is supposed to change the world?
Man, I hurt myself a lot at martial arts club tonight. First, we were doing roundhouses, and for some reason, I decided to do 'em barefoot for once- I got rugburns on the bottoms of my feet. Then, we did moving bag practice, and I did a 75% power roundhouse as my partner was turning and my foot ran straight into the point of my partner's elbow. OWWW!!! It hurt like crazy; it started swelling and turning black within 5 minutes. Now I'm walking like a gimp, hahaha. Oh yea, then, Jeff and I were goofing off, and he accidentally RACKS me! Aaaauugggghhh... oooh, the pain... =(
Well, at least the top of my foot is the only thing that still absolutely kills.... uhhh... if you can consider that a good thing.

Sunday, December 02, 2001

I checked my fastweb account for the first time in ages. Darn, looks like I missed most of the scholarship deadlines on there too, haha. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have written the essays anyways... =/
Do you ever sit just there in the silence, and then all of a sudden notice the ticking of a clock? It makes me feel like my life is wasting away, and I am helpless to resist. Terribly depressing feeling...

"The tick-tock of the clock is painful,
all sane and logical,
I wanna tear it off the wall."
~ Eve6, "Inside Out"
Well, I didn't make the scholarship deadline, but I sent in the app anyways. I hope they're not all anal about it being a couple hours late. (But I know they probably will be... =/)

I was slaving right up until the last few minutes. When I realized I probably wasn't gonna make it, I found it amusing how the traffic on the scholarship site got absurdly slow at between 11:55 and midnight, hahaha.

I kept working on it after the deadline had passed, but at a considerably slower pace. At about 2:00, I had all but like one paragraph on 1 essay left to finish. I took a breather to try and come up with a conclusion. Well, I found myself conked out half on, half off my bed the next morning. Man, and I recall having this killer transition sentence in my head right before falling asleep that I couldn't remember when I woke up. That happens to me all the time nowadays, hahaha, it's like, yea, I'll go and type that sentence in a sec, I just wanna rest my eyes a bit longer... and those eyes never end up opening, hahaha, oh the experience is all too familiar! =(

Well, I woke up this morning and was just like, screw it, I don't care any more. So I whipped up a conclusion in about 3 minutes and sent everything off. Oh well, another day another dollar, right?

Saturday, December 01, 2001

HOLY CRAP! DEAD!!! only about 1 hour left!
It was both Cherry and Kevin (Huang)'s birthday today. During the one hour period between the kids' kung fu class and my own, I went around the Chinatown area looking for a present to buy Kevin- man, who woulda thought buying presents was so freakin' hard? haha. Yea, I only had to look for something for Kevin cuz someone else took care of the present for Cherry for me.

I went to Cherry's party later that night. She took us to Japon, the sushi/teppanyaki place near school. It was really cool, they did the whole Benihana-style flippy spatula thing, it was awesome! And the chef had this knife that cut through everything in a single effortless stroke- it was a killing machine!!! hahaha. Yea, I asked him what brand it was, but he wouldn't tell me. grrrr.

After cake and presents, we decided to go ice skating. But when we got to the place, it was gonna close in like 30 minutes, so we decided to go bowling. The place was packed, and we had to wait, so we went to the arcade. I played air hockey for like 10 minutes straight, without anybody scoring, haha- the table musta been busted or something. Umm, yea, and I played some Tekken 4- really fun... then this like 6 year old kid comes and challenges me, and he totally SCHOOLS me, hahaha!!! It was hilarious. After waiting for a bit longer, we decided to leave.

It was at that point that Rex said he needed to go finish his UT scholarship essays soon. And I was like, "What? What scholarships due tonight? I thought they were all due in February." Apparently, the main scholarships were due 12/01... and I didn't find out about 'em 'til tonight. D'OH!!! So I decide it was time to go home too. They had to drive me back to Cherry's place to get my car though. On the way back, we saw these two humongous streaks going across the sky parallel to each other. I was like, "Oh my gosh! Missiles, I bet they're missiles!" I guess I was wrong, haha, whew...

So then I floor it home and start the scholarship app. Man, who woulda thought it was so freakin' long? And I had 3 essays to finish. This explains the next blog entry. So basically, I needed to finish an entire scholarship application and 3 essays in slightly over an hour!

*I read the next morning that the streaks across the sky were "space debris." Yea... that's what the government says at least... roooooiiiiiiight.
