Man, I was just thinking about the art of human conversation and how formulaic it is. Like, a lot of times, it feels like you're just having the same conversations over and over again. In Intro to Western Music, we're studying Vivaldi, and since he composed all his pieces in a similar style, people say that he didn't compose 800 pieces, he composed the same piece 800 times. I think that's how human conversation is- like, we run through a similar process of inquiry and response over and over again. You can change the topic, but essentially, isn't it just the same formula?

And I got to thinking... isn't that the fate of mankind? For each individual to ponder the same questions about existence, to have the same thoughts & dilemmas? I bet like every thought you've ever had has at some point been through the mind of someone else in another place, another time. I don't think philosophical thoughts are unique to one person or another- it's more like some part of a collective subconscious or something. I dunno... it's hard to explain. Man, I feel like there's so much I wanna say, but I can't express it in words... *sigh* Oh well, I'm sure some more eloquent person out there has found a way to articulate these thoughts in my mind.
