I went to a dinner banquet type thing with Nien tonight for a Texas state representative running for reelection- Ann Kitchen. Well, it went alright I guess. I dunno where I stand in terms of politics. At times, there are a lot of things I want to see done/changed, and other times I'm very much apathetic. =/ I guess I just don't feel like a lot of the key issues hit very close to home at the moment. Things'll change, I'm sure... But yea, I think the Asian American population as a whole is generally quite inactive when it comes to politics. Which is a real shame because if we'd only unite and voice our collective opinions, I think we'd have quite a say in government. The hispanics and blacks got smart about it, and now politicians cater to their special interests. But I dunno... what is it that we would want? hmmm... that's one to think about...
*In other news, I got my first haircut here at UT today. There's a place on the Drag that cuts for $6.99. Yea, anyways, it was the quickest haircut I've gotten in my life. Seriously, the whole thing took like maybe 5 minutes... for the whole kit & kaboodle! And it wasn't half bad either; I was quite impressed. When I was paying, the lady seemed so surprised when I tipped her. I bet college kids are all cheap and don't tip, haha.
