My mom came back from Taiwan today, and we dyed our hair together. Man, I hate those "one-size-fits-all" gloves that come in the box... yea, they're sure to fit... if... if... ummm... if you've got really small hands (; I was sitting here for like 5 minutes trying to think of something clever, but nothing came to mind =/ ). Well, anyways, I remember this one time, the glove had torn like completely without me noticing. And I'd gotten the dye all over my fingernails, and I couldn't get it off... So for like several weeks, it looked like I had purple nail polish on one of my hands, hahaha... d'oh!!
I dunno, it never turns the color I want anyways- it turns orangish-brown when I use blonde, and purplish when I use red. A general rule of thumb (for Asians) regarding hair coloring is: your hair will never turn the color on the box... Dye in the US is made for like blondes I guess, so nothing really shows up well on dark hair; either that or something funky happens. The most efficient solution is to bleach your hair first, but I think that's a huge pain in the butt- so I take my chance with the "funky." haha
Oh yea, and my mom asked me, "Is it still fashionable for Asians to dye their hair?" I don't really know; I guess it's true that it doesn't seem as popular as it used to be... But oh well- for now, I like it, and I guess that's all that really matters.
